Privacy Policy

This policy explains the limited information Los Angeles County Residents Directory receives and how it is handled. The reference needs no account and does not store a government record or a personal resident profile. Search forms, hosting logs, outside portals, and contact messages follow the separate rules below.

Data You Send Directly

Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into the search forms are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Los Angeles County Residents Directory keeps no copy of those searches on its own servers. If you send a message, the operators see the information in that message and use it to respond or handle the request.

Automatic Technical Data

Hosting systems normally record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Those logs are reviewed in aggregate for site health, security, and broad readership measures. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools when the hosting and advertising setup provides them.

How Data Is Used

Information is used to operate the reference, fix faults, understand traffic, and improve local record pages. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from ordinary browsing.

Outside Portals and Links

Pages link to Los Angeles County portals, California state searches, court systems, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools. Each outside provider has its own privacy terms and controls what happens after a reader leaves this reference. Sponsored results are supplied by a separate company.

Who Receives Information

Hosting and technical service providers may process ordinary server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. A valid legal demand can require disclosure. Other sharing is not part of the ordinary operation described in this policy.

Security and Retention

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and technical logs are kept only for the purposes that require them. There are no site accounts, passwords, or personal profiles stored for readers.

People Under 18

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor sent information may use the contact route to request its removal.

California Data Rights

Where applicable, California Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, may provide rights to know, correct, delete, limit use or disclosure of sensitive personal information, and opt out of sale or sharing. Because the reference retains very little, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to ask.

Public records controlled by California, Los Angeles County, or a city are outside the operators' control. A deletion or correction request for a government record must go to the custodian that holds it. The California Attorney General's CCPA information explains the state privacy framework.

Policy Changes

Any revision will be posted here with an updated version of the policy. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the changed terms.
