1. What This Reference Is
Los Angeles County Residents Directory is a private reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with Los Angeles County and California. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with a county, city, state agency, court, library, or records custodian.
2. Permitted and Prohibited Use
Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use it or anything reached through it to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person.
- Locate someone who is protected by a restraining or protective order.
- Commit identity theft, fraud, impersonation, or another unlawful act.

3. No Consumer Report
This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Neither the pages nor any result returned by a linked search tool is a consumer report. Nothing may be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.
4. External Services
County and state portals, court systems, libraries, archives, and sponsored search providers publish their own terms, prices, privacy rules, and availability. Los Angeles County Residents Directory is not responsible for what an outside service displays, charges, or does with a submission.
5. No Warranties
The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Accuracy, completeness, current coverage, portal operation, and the correctness of an external result are not promised.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or a linked source, including an action taken from a record found through them.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorney fees, that arises from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original words, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is welcome. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not.
9. Changes to Terms
Updated terms may be posted at any time. Continued use after a revision is acceptance of the revised language.
10. Access Restrictions
Access may be blocked or limited when a person violates these terms, abuses a search tool, threatens another person, or interferes with the reference. Restriction may occur without advance notice.
11. Governing Law
California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act is found at Government Code section 7920.000 and following. California consumer privacy rights are addressed in Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, including the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. Those statutes govern the relevant public agencies or covered businesses; they do not turn this private reference into a records custodian.
12. Severability
If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
